Eggies Review
Eggies Review, How to use it, Pros & Cons, 2 for 1 offer and how to not get ripped off while buying!
Eggies is a product that has been heavily advertised on TV and infomercials. Due to experiences people have had with most as seen on tv products, its natural that you would look at this with a dose of skepticism.
However, one thing we need to realize is that as consumers who pay money for our purchase, it is our own responsibility to ensure that we fully understand what we are getting into and what we are entitled to receive for our money. Many people are weary of making purchases online when it comes to these informercial products but the fact of the matter is, that these online sellers are pretty hard pushed by FTC guidelines so selling scams isn’t really as easy as it used to be.
Most times, there are no hidden costs and all costs are often times mentioned right upfront in bold letters. But, in our excitement to just get our purchases, we usually ignore these pointers, go click click and order. All that said, lets get right into this Eggies review.
If you’re like me, you hate peeling eggs as much as I do. I love eggs, but peeling them is just a real pain in you know where. Its messy, it takes time and its frikin frustrating! “Just lemme get to eating” is what I find myself thinking…
Eggies makes this real easy. You can have 6 hard boiled eggs ready to eat in the time it would usually take you to peel just one egg if you were to do it the old fashioned way. THAT is the Eggies Claim…
Now, let me explain how much the Eggies System really lives up to its claims…
Eggies Claim #1 – You will never have to peel hard boiled eggs again and no more messy shells
Correct… With Eggies, you take the egg shell entirely out of the equation so your boiled eggs are already shell free when they’re cooked. You crack open the egg, pour it into the eggie and boil it in warm water. Once they’re cooked all you need to do is take ‘em out and they’re ready to eat.
The company delivers on this claim 100%
Eggies Claim #2 – No more broken egg whites, just twist it open for perfect hard boiled eggs
The commercial does tend to overstate the ease of this particular operation… Im not saying that it doesn’t do what’s advertised, just that there is more to it than what’s shown on TV.
You see… in the Eggies Commercial, they show it as if you cook your eggs in the eggies, unscrew them and pop them out… Easy Peesy!
But the instruction you get in the box are a little different. You need to spray the insides of the Eggies or oil them and make them greasy so that the eggs don’t stick to the eggies when they’re cooked. While reading some reviews from others who have used this, I found that its a common complaint that eggs stick to the Eggies and come out broken which defeats the purpose of the Eggies outright. This will only happen if you have not applied the spray.
Those who are applying the spray are easily able to pop the eggs right out in perfect shape.
Another thing I found out from some other people who had bought before me was that letting the eggs cool a little before taking them out of the cups helps too. So the best way to do it is to ensure that you use the spray before you pour your eggs in and then once they’re done, let them cool down a bit and they’ll pop out exactly how it shows in the commercials… In perfect shape!
So does the company deliver on this promise? you decide… I personally, don’t care as long as they’ve given instructions for use (which they have)… What do you think? tell me in the comments…
A common problem with Eggies and how to avoid it…
There is another problem that a lot of people come across while using Eggies.
When boiling, its common for Eggies lid to pop open and the egg while seeping out, thus creating a mess.
To Avoid this, all you need to do is take out the Eggies when the water is still warm and not a bubbling boiling temperature. If you let the water boil to a very high temperature the Eggies WILL pop open… Even the egg shell cracks at that temperature! So them them out at the 18-19 min point when you see just a little bubble forming. That is enough for the eggs to be cooked.
Taasha says:
I use egg substitute – no cholesterol. You can get about 1/4 cup in each, or, my combo was 2 T veggies, 1.5 T liquid. 3 of these combos will give you the 1/4 (or 2 eggs equivalent), and are really hearty. -Pre-oiling – I didn’t bother with the “wiping” the inside, I used the spray right from the can – a quick squirt into each cup, and good spray mist-action on all the other pieces (this helps tremendously to screw the parts together if you give them just a little spray). -Prep, prep, prep – can’t stress enough having all your ingredients ready for use ahead of time (I chopped mushrooms / broccoli – first batch was layered, then I mixed the two veggies for the next batch). If you don’t prep, you’re going to be very sorry! -Prep, prep, prep – all that pre-prep goes a long way. I didn’t bother waiting for a rolling boil, just when I saw bubbles on the bottom of the pan. But, I prep’d ahead, and my egg substitute was room temp, so it did not reduce the water temp much. -18 – 19 min, they start rolling on their side – voila, done. I unscrewed the little filler/venting top, sat them on the counter for 30 min, and they popped out just like the commercial. -Washing? Disassemble everything, use the same pan (I used a tall sauce pan – maybe 4 quarts?), fill with hot, Dawn soapy water, toss all pieces in, wait 10 min, swish everything around, rinse completely, done. (Don’t use the dishwasher, all those little parts will go flying once a good jet of water hits them. Use the pan, and counter dry them on a paper towel. Store them, disassembled, in a large zip-lock bag.) -NO PEELING, NO UNEVEN/UGLY WHITES, NO EGGSHELL UNDER MY FINGERNAIL, NO RAGGED FINGERNAIL, NO PEELING, NO PEELING, NO PEELING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How to avoid any surprises during the checkout process
As I mentioned in the beginning of my review, there were many complaints about hidden charges and shipping and handling charges while I was doing my research before buying the Eggies System.
But, I never had any surprises simply because I PAID ATTENTION…
This is a buy 1 get 1 free deal for $10… But you DO NOT have to get 2 Eggies sets if you don’t want to. Contrary to the popular sentiment, the online order form DOES NOT make that compulsory. At the time I was buying, the deal offered 2 Eggies System sets for $10 and $7.95 Shipping and Handling charge for each set. That makes a total of $25.90 for the 2 sets (you only pay S&H for the free set). During the checkout, they ask you whether you want the free set or just one. Pay attention to that. If you only choose to get 1 set, you will be charged only $17.95 including your shipping and handling for the single set.
However, now they have extended their promotion even further so that even the shipping and handling for the 2nd set is free too!
So you end up paying a total of $17.95 for the 2 sets and they are now also giving away a free slicer with each set…
IMHO, this makes it a no brainer really…

Here is another testimonial from another happy Eggies User…
By Sheryl Hutch:
Our household is cursed with the not all that uncommon condition of high cholesterol and we love eggs. We have used this to make a healthy egg white boiled from egg white substitute. We season it first as without it would be bland and cook it for about 22 minutes. We then made Egg Salad out of part and it was a tasty and healthier version of my husbands favorite. We recommend you use cooking spray and wipe inside the Eggie, fill it, season and boil the eggs for 19.5 minutes and remove them from the eggie. For faster clean up as your remove from the eggie break down the pieces and leave them in the pan of cooking water. When done add a small amount of water hot water to disipate the cook spray and some dish soap and soak for an hour and wash normally on the top shelf of the dishwasher.
Other than the information above, you can also read below for more information on what the Eggies system has to offer…
Pros of Eggies
• No more peeling
This is the most obvious benefit of Eggies. Peeling an egg may take about 4-5 minutes for amateurs and about 2-3 minutes for faster moving people. It is also a different story with eggs that are harder to peel, we get those eggs sometimes. So with this average time range of peeling eggs, finishing about 6 eggs will take a very long time and with lots of labour to do!
• Non sticky interior
Speaking of eggs that are hard to peel, Eggies’ non sticky interior allows you to transfer the boiled egg from the Eggies to a plate smoothly! With this feature, you would get to avoid deformed and broken eggs.
• Easier to decorate
Since eggs boiled with the Eggies System have one flat end, you can decorate them easily. Adding up some edible accessories or some veggies, you can have a very good side dish that children and visitors can enjoy!
• White eggs for a healthy diet
Some people prefer eating egg whites instead of whole eggs for health reasons. So instead of having to boil whole eggs and separate the white from the yolk after boiling, Eggies allows you to boil the eggs’ white alone! With this feature, you can separate all egg yolks at once and maybe use them for something else later on such as deserts or the likes. So Eggies saves you from wasting any egg part, plus you can eat egg white conveniently.
• Fast preparation of food
After getting all your Eggies cooked, transferring them to another container will take you about 30 seconds. With the eggs’ one flat end, decorating the eggs the way you want to will not take more than 7 minutes. So basically, preparing about six eggs after boiling will just take you less than ten minutes for a perfectly cooked and decorated set of eggs!
• Add seasonings and ingredients
Since you transfer the egg away from its shell, you are more than free to add anything to the eggs for flavour! Before, only omelettes and sunny side up eggs get seasoned. Now you can add salt to your hardboiled eggs. You can even add anything else that you feel would make your eggs a lot tastier!
• Dishwasher safe
After using the Eggies, you can easily wash them with your ordinary detergent, rinse them, wipe them dry and have them ready for the next use.
Cons of Eggies
•May take longer to boil
Yes it is true that egg shells are a little bit thinner than Eggies. So expect that Eggies’ eggs may take longer to get fully cooked compare to normal cooking of eggs. But only the cooking part takes some time. After having the eggs cooked, the rest can be finished in a flash! So the point here is, you may invest some time in cooking but you are still saved from effort and labour.
• May take a while to assemble
One Eggies has 4 divisions. So you would need to assemble them if you need to use them. Be cautious to assemble them all correctly to avoid messing things up. But if everything goes as instructed, you would get the perfect hardboiled eggs that you expect!
Conclusion
In my honest opinion, Eggies is a no-brainer for those who have a lot of egg consumption around the house. A real time saver for busy moms and caretakers. Not only does it save your time and make it so much easier, it also lets you go healthy with hard boiling eggs substitutes and egg whites only, etc. Plus, you can get really creative too with adding ingredients before boiling and seeing how they taste. A definite recommended by me!
